South East Europe: World Veterinary Experts Will Meet In Prague Next Year

In partnership with:

Next year, Prague will host the 13th Congress of the European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (EVECCS) which will take place in the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague from June 12 to 15, 2014. The European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society organizes the annual EVECCS Congress in different European cities every June. The Czech Republic will thus become the first country of the former Central and Eastern Europe to host the EVECCS Congress which will be attended by more than 300 veterinary experts from all over the world. Prague Convention Bureau is a proud partner of this event.

“The EVECCS Congress is constantly developing and currently it attracts hundreds of small animal and horse veterinarians and veterinary technicians,” says MVD. Kateřina Pavlišová, a member of the Local Organizing Committee, adding: “Most of the delegates come from the European countries, but there are also participants coming from more distant countries of the world. International speakers participating at the event ensure the diverse and interesting programme.”

Prior to the official opening of the Congress, on 12th June 2014,  the pre-congress day entitled “What I can do with a pediatric patient?” will take place which will include lectures by highly experienced professionals who will talk about  differences in  approach and implementation of therapy  in this group of patients. The main topic of the main part of the upcoming congress, which will deal with issues of diagnosis and therapy in emergency cases, is “A quick guide to success”. The scientific programme will be divided into several sessions – the session for small animal veterinarians, the equine session and the session for veterinary technicians. A new session for the veterinarians – emergency and critical care experts will be also included. Moreover, the congress will include several interesting and practical workshops aimed not only at veterinarians but also veterinary nurses. During the four days, a wide range of renowned international experts from the European countries, the United States of America and Canada will thus discuss the latest news in veterinary emergency and intensive care.

The congress participants can expect a varied social programme and associated events – welcome reception in a small brewery house U Medvídků, guided tour through the historical centre of Prague, gala dinner in the Slavic House and closing ceremonies in the congress venue.

The European Society of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (EVECCS), established in 2002, is a non-profit organization with the aim to promote the study, development and clinical practice of veterinary emergency medicine and intensive care in Europe.
