NLGJA National Conference and Media Summit comes to Chicago

Chicago will host to this year’s National Lesbian and Gay Journalist’s Association National Convention and 10th LGBT Media summit. The event will take place August 21 through August 24 at the Palmer House Hilton. This year will make the 22nd anniversary of the event, which brings together media representatives to engage in discussion on the topic of fair and accurate coverage of LGBT issues in the news media.

The LGBT media summit will kick off the four-day assembly on Thursday, August 21 with three boot camps, followed by two full days of programming with more than thirty workshops designed to address the needs of journalists and those in the communication industry. The convention also will include Connect: the NLGJA Student Journalism Project, the Women's Networking Dinner, NLGJA's Excellence in Journalism Awards and numerous other learning and networking opportunities.
