Canada: Winnipeg Gets More Convention Space
Winnipeg, Manitoba now has more meeting and convention space thanks to the renovation and expansion of its largest convention hotel.
The Victoria Inn Winnipeg Convention Centre now has 55,000 square feet of usable event space that can be divided into 21 rooms. It is the second time in six years that the hotel’s convention area has been expanded to meeting the growing demand of meetings and conventions in the city, which is situated in the geographic heart of Canada.
The expansion includes a ballroom with standalone space of 25,000 square feet and capacity for up to 1,800; additional parking for more than 1,000 vehicles; and two additional entrances and large foyer areas on the east and south sides of the building.
Winnipeg is also home to Canada’s newest museum, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR). Opened in September, the museum is the first museum in the world solely dedicated to the evolution, celebration and future of human rights.
