Canada: Ontario Company Recognized for Once-in-a-Lifetime Experiences
Planners looking for a uniquely Canadian experience for their group should check out Wilderness North, an exclusive collection of lodges and outpost cabins in Northern Ontario that has just been recognized as an Ontario Signature Experience (OSE).
Accessible only by floatplane, the company offers lodge-to-lodge adventures and world-class angling on more than 15 lakes within the Ogoki and Albany watershed.
Now, as a result of recent infrastructure investment and expansion, it is creating new experiences in Northern Ontario for international visitors. New offerings include the seven-day Path of the Explorer program, which immerses guests in a quintessentially Canadian backcountry adventure as they follow the footsteps of Canada’s first explorers.
“We are truly honored to be identified as an Ontario Signature Experience,” says Alan Cheeseman, owner, Wilderness North. “We are proud to provide unique Canadian adventures and activities that you simply can’t find anywhere else, and we look forward to offering these quintessential northern experiences to our intrepid travelers, explorers and anglers for years to come.”
The OSE collection of experiences is selected by the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership. It seeks to showcase a range of extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Wilderness North’s lodges and outpost cabins are accessible by floatplanes from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Daily flights are available to Thunder Bay from Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa and Calgary.
