Three New, Newly Renovated Restaurant Venues in San Diego

Looking to book an event in San Diego? Three new or renovated restaurants are offering space for meetings. Each of the below venues has audiovisual equipment. 


Striders in Downtown San Diego

Striders has more than 150 HD TV screens throughout the space. Two large glass enclosed balconies look over the San Diego Convention Center, just in time for Comic-Con, and an open kitchen with multiple chef’s tables. With a capacity of up to 500, the venue aims to provide a casual and classic space with two outdoor patios, a Signature Horseshoe bar and premium booth seating. The menu offers shareable bites such as Mediterranean meatballs, Striders jumbo wings and Striders Sliders including BBQ pulled pork, chicken cheesesteak and beer battered fish sliders, a variety of salads and sandwiches and flatbreads.

Herb & Eatery in Little Italy 

An open space that can be reorganized to meet various needs, Top Chef alumni Brian Malarkey’s Herb & Eatery’s gallery is a good fit for corporate events, weddings, birthdays and more. Located in the Little Italy neighborhood, which is a five-minute drive from the San Diego airport, the restaurant and open gallery is housed in a renovated warehouse. Serving up cuisine from both Herb & Eatery and its sister restaurant next door, Herb & Wood, food options include breakfast items such as granola, house made croissants and baked eggs to lunch and dinner items such as salads, grilled and roasted items, wood-fired pizzas with house- made dough that is aged for 48-hours. Freshly baked breads and desserts are all made in-house daily. The gallery space has 2,000 square feet with a seating capacity of 100 and standing of 125. Audiovisual equipment is also available.

Farmer & The Seahorse in Torrey Pines 

A venue for both work lunches and private events, Farmer & The Seahorse has the ability to host a variety of meetings, from a group of 12 in their Airstream private dining room, to 200 in the theater and 250 in the Americana Banquet Room. Located near the Torrey Pines reserve and golf course, the venue and its different spaces are equipped with audiovisual equipment. Recently, the space renovated the Helvetica Bar, which is located outside of the theater, offering a place to mix and mingle before a lecture or conference. The menu, designed and created by Top Chef alum Brian Malarkey and Chef de Cuisine Jason Gethin, includes breakfast options such as egg scrambles, avocado toasts and chilaquiles. Lunch and dinner options include meat and cheese trays, assortment of artisan sandwiches and large plates such as short ribs with a red wine reduction and pan roasted chicken.
