Downtown Los Angeles is poised to get a 900-room InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property. The hotel will become part of Korean Air and Hanjin Group's more than $1.1-billion new-build Wilshire Grand project, and will reportedly be the largest InterContinental hotel in the Americas region.
The 1,200-foot, 73 story properties is also set to become the tallest building on the west coast. The hotel will be the first in the western United States to have a sky-lobby which will be located on the 70th floor.
Currently under construction, the hotel is set to open in 2017 and will be the first hotel built by Korean Air in the U.S.
Built on the site of the former Wilshire Grand hotel, the mixed use development will also house approximately 365,000 square feet of office space, 45,100 square feet of restaurant and retail space, 60,000 square feet of meeting space and a fitness center and spa.
