Dream Hotel Group to Extend 12% Commission for Meeting Planners

Dream Hotel Group reports it is extending its portfolio-wide 12 percent group commissions through the first quarter of 2019. In April 2018, Dream Hotel Group initially announced it had increased commissions for qualified groups and meetings that were booked and actualized in 2018.

“The response we received from increasing the group commission was so positive, that extending the 12 percent commission through Q1 of this year was a no brainer for our team,” said Jay Stein, Chief Executive Officer, Dream Hotel Group, in a written statement. “As a company, Dream Hotel Group recognizes and values the important role our intermediary partners play in attracting group business to our hotels and we are proud to continue to support and maintain these long-standing partnerships.”

Reservations must be booked and actualized by March 31, 2019 with a minimum of 10 rooms on the peak. The offer is not valid for any business previously booked or consumed and is subject to availability, cancellation or extension at any time.

The move follows a decision by a number of major companies to cut commissions for meeting planners. These include Hyatt, which is dropping planner commissions to 7 percent in Februrary, as well as Marriott, Hilton and IHG.
