How Melbourne Won the INCON Digital Infrastructure Award

Last month, at the annual IMEX convention in Frankfurt, INCON announced ICCA member Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre as the overall winner of the 2015 INCON Digital Infrastructure Award.

At the announcement of the INCON Digital Infrastructure Award, Bob Heile, chair of IEEE 802 Wireless Working Group and Roslyn McLeod, co-chair of Incon Global Partnerships in Meetings and Events, presented the award, praising the work of the MCEC team for their work on technology and innovation.

"Our team has put an enormous amount of work into this and our digital infrasturcture is incredibly important--not only to our industry's future but to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre," Peter King, CEO of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre said afterwards. "All the work we've done around our customer and our customer journey is leading us to advancing our digital technology." 

While praising Melbourne's buildings and infrastructure, Karen Bolinger, CEO of the Melbourne Convention Bureau, noted the talent of the city's professionals that drive the knowledge economy, and provide content for its conferences.
