VIDEO: How EIBTM is Helping the Associations Market
The “holy grail” for many of the destinations at EIBTM is the association event planner, and the show launched a new initiative this year to help these attendees have a more productive experience. “My Association | My Club” initiative, EIBTM Show Director Graeme Barnett told IMR's James Latham from the tradeshow floor, is a result of talking with customers and learning what they needed.
EIBTM has an advisory board made up of attendees--both buyers and suppliers--and also used a focus group this year to bring association meeting planners into London with an independent research agency to really get under the skin of what they wanted from events like this.” My Association | My Club emerged from this focus group, and Barnett believes that the initiative is all about flexibility and making attendees feel like they are part of a bigger universe—”giving them the opportunity to spend time together [and] to learn together.”
EIBTM provided new facilities on the show floor with a dedicated club-style lounge and placed many of the association meeting planners together in one hotel. “It’s all about trying to make them feel inclusive, but letting them do what they want when they want to do it.”
