Arizona's Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Launches Adventures & Experiences Department

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona's Sonoran Desert has announced a new service and tool available to event planners: Professional planners can now consult with the hotel's in-house, resort-based Adventures & Experiences Department

This Department is a full-service resource for creating and arranging group events and activities, both at the resort and in the surrounding area. Bonus: Fairmont Scottsdale Princess’ Adventures & Experiences service is available to groups booking future events as well as to those that have already booked and want to further enhance their gatherings.

By working with Adventures & Experiences, meeting planners can coordinate with a single entity rather than several vendors (which also makes billing much simpler). Another benefit to event planners is they will circumvent higher costs for services typically charged by traditional, third-party destination management companies.

The team works closely with first-time event coordinators and seasoned meeting professionals alike, arranging everything from transportation and entertainment to offsite events and adventures. (The team uses a software program that organizes all aspects of group events and meetings as well as provides a web portal for participants to arrange pre-selected activities online.) Activities can include the DC Ranch Cycling Adventure; the Ultimate Southwest Experience (which includes four-wheeling, horseback riding, a pistol range, plus bow and arrow target shooting with true cowboys); and in-house culinary activities such as the Just South of the Border Cooking Challenge, Food & Brew tasting and pairing with the resort’s own beer cicerone, Chili Cook Off and Molecular Mixology.

In addition, Adventures & Experiences offers recreation, tours, themed events, entertainment, team-building, and philanthropy-focused activities ranging from a Western-themed ropes course replete with mechanical bulls and steer roping, baseball outings, desert dune buggy tours, and hot air balloon rides, to swank parties at the resort’s East Pool, Desert Botanical Garden visits, on- and off-property dine around excursions, events such as the Military Salute charity event, Go-Cart Race Factory trips, and more. The team can customize every aspect of a group’s stay and even help create a keepsake for each guest (for example, the resort’s signature group gift is the “Taste of Fairmont,” which highlights flavors at the resort's restaurants.

The resort recently expanded its conference facilities, including the new Palomino Conference Center and renovated Princess Conference Center, and has a total of 156,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space, making it the largest meetings hotel in the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts collection worldwide. Active groups can make use of the resort’s five pools, two adjacent TPC Scottsdale championship 18-hole golf courses and the 44,000-square-foot Willow Stream Spa. The Tennis Center has five courts, plus a stadium court with seating for 6,300 spectators (and team-building activities). Nearby activities include desert Jeep tours, hot air ballooning, desert hikes, mountain biking, world-class shopping, sporting events and museums.

The resort is located at 7575 East Princess Drive in Scottsdale. More information about Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is available at www.scottsdaleprincess.com or by calling (480) 585-4848.
