Feel the difference at MeetDifferent 2010

Cancun, Mexico will witness the arrival of a host of meetings and events industry professionals next February, when the city welcomes Meetings Professionals International’s (MPI’s) MeetDifferent conference.

Promising delegates “a mind-opening exploration of new growth and performance strategies”, the 2010 event moves beyond the traditional classroom and into early bird sessions, soap box debates, and idea exchanges.

MeetDifferent 2010 features a redesigned conference schedule to help delegates get even more from the conference. A highly flexible education programme will allow delegates additional scope to customise their time to their learning and networking needs.

“We’ll have early riser sessions, evening sessions, mini 20-minute round robin sessions, sessions in your hotel room, sessions on the golf course and sessions live wherever you might be accessing your laptop,” explained Brooke Dillier, MPI director of content management.

“Basically, anytime or anywhere you can dream of wanting to consume education and make quality connections, you’ll be able to.”

MPI’s marketing manager Keri Dool is also keen to emphasise the extra effort that has been put into next year’s event.

“We’ve worked really hard this year to make sure MeetDifferent lives up to its name,” she said, going on to run through some of the conference’s key features.

“The Hosted Buyer Programme is really a terrific advantage for attendees,” she continued. “By pre-selecting appointments, delegates are guaranteed to make the right connections at the conference, which is a better use of their time and leaves less to chance. What’s more, those planners who participate get lots of great benefits, like free hotel stay and complimentary conference registration or airfare reimbursement.

“The Cancun host committee is also offering participants a complimentary round trip airport transportation on the main arrival and departure days, which frees attendees from travel logistics so they can concentrate on the conference.”

MeetDifferent 2010 will be held at the Moon Palace, which features unique outdoor areas, and the conference architecture will make the most of this, according to Dool.

“We are embracing all the indoor and outdoor space available and using both during the conference,” she said, adding: “All of MeetDifferent’s events this year have been reimagined to encourage participation and highlight innovation.”

MeetDifferent 2010 takes place from 20-23 February.
