For participants at the Financial & Insurance Conference Planners Annual Conference in November, the senior vice president and chief sales officer for MGM International offered takeaways for meeting negotiation over the next couple of years (that's in part one of our article), and he took a look around the world, sharing what keeps travel, meeting, and economy watchers up at night.

Globally, hotels set RevPAR (i.e., rooms revenue) records in 2014. But amid the cheering, forecasters had their eyes on trouble spots: Brazil was flying high but that was World Cup–related, after which a decline is always expected; the economy in China was slowing; the Middle East was chaotic. “And, in fact, all these places had begun to decline in the first two-thirds of 2015,” Dominguez said.
