If you’re wondering whether business travelers have embraced ride-sharing services as a ground transportation option, buckle your seatbelts for the results of an analysis of business travel receipts by expense management company Certify.

uber and lyftBack in Q1 2014, Certify reviewed millions of receipts to find that in the ground transportation category, 37 percent were from taxi rides, 55 percent from car rentals, and 8 percent from what they refer to as “ride-hailing” (and what they explain as receipts exclusively from Uber and Lyft). Fast forward to Q1 2016 for a U-turn: The business travel receipt breakdown was 46 percent Uber and Lyft, 40 percent car rentals, and 14 percent taxis.
