About a year ago, November 14, 2013, the leadership, sales professionals, and support staff of the hotel representation company Krisam Group found themselves suddenly without jobs and without a company. “It was an absolute shock,” says Raffaella Tasca, who had been director of sales with Krisam.
Two days later, investor Darrell Tamosuinas got a call from a friend with a proposition: How would you like to form a company for a group of employees who just lost everything but are still passionate about their business? After verifying that the 37-year-old company was being disbanded for reasons other than its business model, Tamosuinas met with several of the former Krisam sales professionals in Minneapolis. They and others began working their contacts to explain the proposed change, getting commitments from hotels to sign on with a new company. In short order, Tamosuinas committed.
