We’re back from Memorial Day weekend, which means it’s officially summer. And that means lots of things, including a full slate of meetings industry conferences and events over the next several months. So it seemed like a good time to collect some sanity-saving, energy-boosting, productivity-raising travel and meeting advice from your peers in the industry, starting with reviving the IMEX Survival Guide by Timothy Arnold, CMP, CMM, regional vice president for HPN Global, who considers IMEX a must-attend. (OK, IMEX Frankfurt is in spring and IMEX America is in autumn, but the tips are timeless.) “Being able to meet with so many valuable partners in one destination over just a couple of days is one of the best uses of my time,” he says. Here is how he makes the most of it:

Before the Show
Reach out via e-mail or phone to vendors, friends, suppliers, and even clients beforehand to let them know you are attending. I find this helpful, as you can possibly set up a breakfast meeting, drinks, or the like and get even more value out of the show.
