Air Travel: New Domestic Routes in the U.S.




This week in air travel news affecting the meetings and events industry, a number of U.S. carriers announced new domestic routes.

This week United Airlines announced that it is expanding service from its hubs at New York - Newark and Washington - Dulles airports. From Newark, the airline is adding nonstop, seasonal mainline service to Palm Springs, as well as adding additional frequencies to existing destinations and larger, two-cabin aircraft. It is also shifting service to Chattanooga, Tennessee, Ithaca, New York, and Scranton, Pennsylvania, from Newark to Washington - Dulles. 

In other domestic travel news this week, Delta announced it will launch daily nonstop service between Boston Logan International Airport and Philadelphia starting October 1. The service will be flown four times daily on CRJ-900 aircraft operated by Delta Connection carrier Endeavor Air

In international news, this week German airline Condor announced that it is adding a new hub in the United States: Phoenix. Service from Phoenix kicked off May 18.
